My Hiking Log

This is an attempt to document my hikes. I didn't start logging them in writing until my first hike on the Mid State Trail back in 2004.



All of the AT section hikes listed below were done with my friend Eric. In total, we've done about 400 miles spanning from New Jersey to Virginia. In 2006, he hiked the Northern half of the trail, from Maine through most of Virginia. The section hikes are listed in order from North to South:

• Delaware Water Gap North to NJ route 94 (6/27 - 6/30/2003)
• PA route 309 North to Delaware Water Gap (Aug. 2002)
• PA route 183 North to PA route 309 (May 2002)
• Duncannon North to PA route 183 (Aug. 2001)
• Duncannon South to Boiling Springs (Sept. 1999)
• Boiling Springs South to White Rock Acres (Oct. 1999)
• White Rock Acres South to Pine Grove Furnace State Park (June 1999)
• Penn Mar North to Pine Grove Furnace State Park (Nov. 1999)
• Penn Mar South to Harper's Ferry, West Virginia (Aug. 2000)
• Harpers Ferry (9/16 - 9/19/2006) - I joined Eric for 50 miles of his Southbound thru-hike

• Route 192 at R. B. Winter State Park North to White Deer Creek (6/2 - 6/3/2007), solo

• A section in Washington (19xx), with my Dad

• Mt. Nittany (1/1/2007), solo: The hike that every PSU student should do before they graduate. Whoops - I did it 2 years late.
• MST / Greenwood Spur loop (5/28/2007), solo: A State College area loop which includes an MST section along Detweiler Run, the Greenwood Spur trail, Long Mountain Trail, and Thickhead Road. • MST / Gettis Trail / Bear Meadows Trail / Jean Aron Trail / Lonberger Path / Kettle Trail / MST (10/14/2007), with Steve: this loop starts at Little Flat at the top of Tussy Mountain, loops down to Bear Meadows, and jumps back up to Little Flat: Bear Meadows

• Twin Lakes Trail (6/16/2007), solo: A trail in Allegheny National Forest, just North of Cook Forest. I hiked in about 5 miles, then backtracked to my car.
