Despite the amount of ongoing research on the topic, a rather large percentage of the nation's population continues to look at global warming as debatable opinion and not fact.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of
real world examples of global warming that turn up in the news every day. The most recent being that an ice shelf broke away from Ellesmere Island in Northern Canada.
I suggest jumping over to Wikipedia to see a good image showing the
anatomy of an Antarctic ice shelf. I'm no scientist, but I'm guessing that an ice shelf on the Northern pole may differ from the one in the diagram due to the smaller size of Ellesmere Island.
