So I've recently caught a travel bug. I have the urge to get out of the United States, and leave for a decent period of time. Of course, leaving costs money, so I will need to plan ahead. The trip will not be for a few years, but it is all worth starting to plan now.

The big reason I want to travel is to see how other cultures live. Not just go stay in a hotel somewhere for a week and sight-see. I want to wander with the people, buy food off the streets, and take a stab at using the languages of the countries I visit. There's a ton more to life than an 8 to 5 job, driving a car everywhere, and spending money on things that I really don't need in my life.

Another reason I want to get away is because I feel like I need a more proper transition into adult life. I spent my first 18 years at home, went to college til I was 22, and at some point picked up an internship. Then smack - I walked into work one day and I was a full time employee. And here I am, lingering in a college town, doing basically the same thing as 3 or 4 years ago. It's getting time for a trip, and the only way to make a trip happen is to plan it.
