Upon our arrival to the small village of Papigko, Greece, we set out for a short hike to a site appropriately named “Red Rock”, where we watched the sun set over the mountains in Albania from a grassy hillside. Here, a massive fragment of rock split off from the cliffs above, exposing the red rock underneath, called “Kokkino Lithari” by the villagers. The portion of rock which fell away sits upright in a landslide area below the trail, far above the Western end of the Vikos Gorge.
