Great advice from Pete Huttlinger for any gigging musician:
My credo is simple: “Everyone from the ticket-taker to the soundman, the usher to the venue owner, and of course, the audience, will have a great experience when I show up.” This has served me well for decades, and over the years I’ve learned that being well prepared is at least half the battle.
And having your gear in order is a must! You are in the business of playing live music, so make sure you have reliable gear. That includes working cables, pedals, power strips, and anything else you find yourself borrowing form other musicians at the show. If you need to borrow a piece of gear to make your regular show happen, then you should probably own two of them.
