As a member of a small engineering team, I appreciate the value in all of our employees being in the same office building, and more importantly, the value in our engineers sharing the same work-space. In parallel to working on our individual day-to-day tasks, we are also brainstorming. Sometimes we don’t even know it.
In one big room, engineers can hear conversations that other engineers are having, including discussions about product issues, possible solutions, and procedure ideas that will help the company move forward.
Hearing these conversations can sometimes lead to wider recognition of a recurring issue in the company, solutions to the problems, or more simply, awareness of issues for the subconscious mind to chew on.
