Two black bears, a few hundred yards apart, were along Skyline Drive last night, feasting on the growth next to the roadside. They were both small, probably only a year or two old, and had certainly been exposed to park tourists photographing them from their vehicles. #BlackBear #ShenandoahNationalPark #SkylineDrive #BlueRidgeMountains #Virginia #nature #wildlife
@nikki.murray This was my first visit to the park. It is a beautiful area for sure. We went in the evening to watch the deer at Big Meadows. I suppose this is when the bears are out and about too.

Amazing shot! I’m jealous you saw Black Bears – I was just there on Saturday and didn’t see any. 🙂
