Instagram and The Masses

The worst thing I have seen come out of Facebook’s Instagram acquisition is that the masses use it no differently than an old disposable Kodak, taking shots of groups of friends on the town, plates of food, or the latest product they’ve purchased.

To me, Instagram is a place for highlighting great photos taken by the average mobile phone user — shot intentionally, or filtered after-the-fact — to add an even greater appeal to their would-be photographer-esque photos.
